Grief Recovery Coaching

Loss takes many forms. The death of someone we love, Loss of health, losing a relationship, moving away from our home and even the loss of our dreams for the future.

A loss is often followed by intense painful emotions we call Grief - the more significant the loss, the more intense the grief. And even though we know for sure that sooner or later we all will experience loss, it is one of the events in life for which we feel most unprepared.

Learning to cope is never about ‘getting over it’ but expanding your abilities and arriving at a place in which you feel able to function well again, looking into the future with hope and a sense of excitement and challenge.

I am passionate about recovery. My deepest belief is that we are inherently healthy and whole and that our basic nature is always to strive towards that happy, healthy existence. If you feel that you have forgotten how, let me help you to rediscover…

I realised that we experience grief feelings in so many areas of our lives and often the way we cope with those feelings is by pushing them aside and ignoring the pain, causing us to repeat destructive or unhelpful patterns and develop 'emotional baggage' build-up, which has negative consequences in our lives.

While death and divorce are obvious causes of grief, many other loss experiences have been identified that can produce grief.

Loss of health,  moving,  death of a pet, loss of a significant relationship, retirement, menopause, financial changes, empty nest, loss of trust etc.

Grief Recovery  begins by recognising an individual’s ability to heal, address issues, confront challenges and take action. It involves acknowledging the loss and learning skills to find a suitable place for it, whilst regaining your vitality and finding new meaning for living.

Grief Recovery Coaching will give you the skills and tools to allow life to continue with adaptation and change. Empowering you to define and accept the new roles in your life and regain your energy so that you are able to design a ‘plan of action’ towards the future you want.

Obviously, recovering from a significant emotional loss is not an easy task. Taking the actions that lead to recovery will require your attention, open-mindedness, willingness, and courage.

I am looking forward to sharing this path with you.
